What are Computer software?

Software also called programs. Software is a set of instruction that tells the computer what to do and how to do it.

Basically there are two type of software.

    1.       System software

a.       Operating system

b.      Drivers and Utility Software

c.       Embedded Software

    2.       Application software

a.       Word processors (Notepad, Word Pad, MS word)

b.      Entertainment software (VLC, Windows Media Player )

c.       Spreadsheet software (Lotus 123, MS Excel)

d.      Database Software (MS Access, SQL Server(Structure Query Language) )
